92nd Engineer Battalion
(AND THOSE UNITS SERVING WITH THEM!)
Since Sept. 11, 2001, and since America's War on Terror began, Fort Stewart's 92nd Engineers have deployed four times.
On this most recent yearlong stint in Iraq, the battalion was attached to the 411th Engineer Brigade, 20th Engineer Brigade (Combat Airborne) and Task Force Sapper. The soldiers built forward operating bases, performed combat construction and executed tactical missions.
A second group of soldiers with the combat engineers battalion is expected to return Wednesday evening to Fort Stewart.
